12.28mm tempered SGP laminated glass dome is built by safety SGP laminated glass, the glass is consist of two panes of  5mm clear tempered glass  with one layer of 2.285mm SGP film sandwiched between them. If the glass is broken fragments tend to adhere to the SGP interlayer thereby reducing the risk of injury from falling glass and helping to resist further impact or weather damage. Besides, SGP film has good tenacity performance and can resistant to hurricanes, even when the laminated glass breaks due to violent force, the SGP will absorb a large amount of impact energy and disperse it rapidly. Thus, it’s hard to break the SGP laminated glass and the shape of the glass may be maintained even if being broken. Furthermore, personnel inside and outside the glass dome will not be hurt by the glass fragment.

Different between SGP Laminated Glass and PVB Laminated Glass

PVB is polyvinyl butyral, with features of high transparency, cold resistance, impact resistance, resistance to ultraviolet radiation etc. PVB is the most widely used laminated material for building glass at present.

PVB tempered laminated glass is a type of safety glass, has the advantages good sound insulation resistance and ultraviolet radiation, but PVB water resistance is poor.

The full name of SGP is Sentry Glas Plus. It is a high-performance sandwich material developed by DuPont Co. SGP laminated glass has high strength and shear modulus, and the mechanical properties. The bearing capacity of SGP laminated glass is 2 times the carrying capacity of PVB with equal thickness. Meanwhile, under the condition of equal load and equal thickness, the flexural deflection of SGP laminated glass is only 1 / 4 of PVB sandwich glass.

SGP film has good edge stability and is not sensitive to water. SGP laminated film is colorless and transparent, and good weather resistance, not easy to yellow. The yellowing coefficient of SGP film is less than 1.5, while the yellowing coefficient of PVB film is 6~12.

The tear strength of SGP laminated film laminated film is 5 times of PVB, even in case of broken glass, SGP film can also bond broken glass to form a temporary structure after the destruction, the bending deformation is smaller than PVB.
