The production procedure of half tempered Glass is customized product and similar to Tempered Glass process. 8mm light green HS float glass is to produce 8mm F green float glass through high temperature and quenching, make the surface layer less than 69 MPa compressive stress. Through this way, the mechanical strength of glass increased several times. Heat Strengthened glass surface stress is around 24 ~ 69 Mpa.

Features of half toughened glass:

1. Heat-strengthened glass don’t exist spontaneous explosion.

2. Tempered float glass is with 2 times strength than ordinary annealed glass.

3. Toughened float glass is a typically specific glass when additional strength is needed to resist wind pressure, thermal stress.

4. When broken occurred, the semi toughened glass fragments are more similar in size and shape to annealed glass fragments and thus tend to stay in the opening longer than fully tempered glass particles.
