The glass is an essential part of windows& doors. The early buildings’ windows& doors all use single flat glass. Developing till now, have Tempered glass, Insulated glass, Laminated glass, Safety glass…Now most of windows& doors use tempered glass.
1. How to distinguish Tempered glass and ordinary glass?
A. Check the mark on glass
Check whether the glass edge have CCC mark or not, if have CCC mark and can’t erase, then it basically is Tempered glass. The Tempered glass production procedure is that cut the Float glass into required size and shape, then polish, clean, printed the CCC mark with ink before tempered. After tempered, the ink usually could’t erase. If the CCC mark on your glass could erase by hand, then could say it is faked Tempered glass.
B. Check if the glass has slight deformation
Check if the glass has slight deformation at side, because the glass after high heat tempered, all will have slight deformation, this only could be observed from side, usually could’t find out from front.
C. Check the glass fragment
The ordinary glass after breakage, the fragment is big shape with angle, easy to hurt the people. The tempered glass after breakage is granular shape with dull edge, not easy to hurt the people.
2. The Tempered glass could be divided into Flat Tempered glass and Curved Tempered glass
The commonly used thickness of Flat Tempered glass have 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 19mm. The commonly used thickness of Curved Tempered glass have 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm.
